Thick teak lush timberlands, amazing coffee ranches, lavish green valleys, and undulated mountain ranges- together make Coorg a dazzling area for the visitor looking for characteristic grand places and treks that brings the best out of you. Brahmagiri, Tadiandamol, and Pushpagiri peaks in the district are extremely popular amongst trekkers and the undiluted natural abundance surroundings of these tops are truly eye-devouring.

Coorg is a perfect place for bird-watching. The sheer excellence of the scenes, the unpolluted surroundings, immaculate oxygen-rich air, and the facilities, draw in numerous sightseers to this spot. Coorg offers numerous energizing open-air exercises like trekking, hiking, angling, and golfing. Especially for the golfers, Coorg offers a lot of appreciating facilities with three greens golf courses namely, Mercara Downs, Coorg Golf Links, and the one in Pollibetta. Plus, the area is full of rare types of flora and fauna.

Raja’s Seat in the town of Madikeri and just a few hours drive away from Coorg’scentre, is the place the lords would sit and watch the sunset with their consorts. This is viewed as one of South India’s most grand areas. The perspective from Raja’s Seat is amazing as you look upon the green valleys and towering hill summits. This is the ideal spot to sit with a glass of wine and watch vehicles running up the street to Mangalore which lies in the valley looking like a streaming lace.

Gaddige, the tombs of Dodda Vira Rajendra and Linga Rajendra II, is a huge recorded landmark in Coorg. The regal tombs give a charging perspective of the whole town. The tomb of Linga Rajendra was built somewhere in 1820. What’s more, there are tombs for two armed forces officers and a minister, which are also chief tourist attractions. The tombs are built in Muhammadan style featuring central domes and turrets. Indeed, even the bars of the windows are made of fine metal and embellished with excellent engravings.

Nisargadhama is a delightful island, about two km from Kushalnagar town and 28 km from Madikeri. The expanse of the island is about 64 acres, encompassed by the Cauvery Stream, and is accessible via a hanging bridge. Its amazing wonderful surroundings are rich with thick foliage of sandalwood, bamboo forests, and teak trees. Elephant rides and sailing are the two most popular activities here. There is also a deer park, a park for the children, and Orchidarium.
