Chitrakote Falls, Chhattisgarh: Niagara Falls of India

The Chitrakote Waterfall is one of the largest falls in India. It is also called the Niagara Falls of India. It is situated close to Jagdalpur of Chhattisgarh on the river Indravati, which is a branch of the Narmada River in the state of Chhattisgarh. It is concerning 95ft or 29 metres high whereas the width of this fall changes radically according to the level of water in the river. Some other nearby waterfalls are as follows, Mandra Waterfalls at a distance of 12km from Jagdalpur. Mandra Fall is also the beautiful scenery of Chhattisgarh. Another fall is Chitradhara which is just 19 km from Jagdalpur in a village named Potanar. Tamada waterfall is one of the most beautiful falls in Chhattisgarh so lots of visitors come here for taking a view. It is the most excellent picnic spot in Chhattisgarh. Ghoomar is another waterfall in Chhattisgarh near Jagdalpur. This fall changes according to the season, in monsoons or rainy seasons it becomes enormous, but in another season this fall is divided into small branches, which looks gorgeous.
